Title: A Crappy Check-In
Post by: GoWestRob on July 13, 2016, 03:54:37 PM
We got a box yesterday from a vendor, not one of the big distribution warehouses but a small-ish one that I'd like to not mention by name.  Inside one of the boxes containing only shirts our receiving guy pulled out a pair of someone's used gym shorts, it was a brand that the wholesalers don't carry.  After checking them out a little closer he noticed there was a big ol' poop smear (or something like it) wiped in the back!  I contacted the distributor with pictures and they didn't really seem to care too much about it.  We've found some random stuff in boxes before but someone's crappy shorts has got to be the weirdest.

Maybe one of the temp workers I had that crapped his pants is now packing boxes where you buy your shirts?

I'd be glad that I hadn't ordered take-out food!

years ago we found a magazine to a pistol in one of the boxes - sealed box from the manufacturer

occasionally we find trimming scissors and knives/blades.

If they didn't seem to care, I'd out them by name.

We found an iPod once in the box...haha.  Definitely returned that.

We just started working with them and I'd hate to soil our the relationship by outing them by name, but here was their lackluster response -

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that. That is very strange, I do greatly appreciate you letting us and we will get to the bottom of that. Please disregard the shorts, we will address this issue with our team.

They'll probably be able to figure out who it was based on who left the shop that week in their tighty whities.

Disregard? That's a little difficult.

Did they send you a return label and RMA number?

I would refuse the whole box of shirts. I wouldn't pass that to customers. Id demand some action on that. That's gotta be the most ridiculous thing yet from a supplier.

Or get a dna sample and press some charges. That could be a major health risk.

I bet that was an interesting team meeting to plan...

(Get ready to do a spit-take...)

I once accidentally shipped my wallet to a client.

How it got in the box, I have no idea to this day. This was almost twenty years ago, I was still young and dumb(er).

At any rate, that was was a tough call to make once I realized it. "Hi Mr Davis, I know this is gonna sound crazy, but heres what MAY have happened...."The client laughed hard and loud. Rightfully so.

Not to mention the tough week+ I had waiting on the package to arrive to the client, and then have the client ship it back. I stayed home a lot.....:)

That's funny...I did lose my car keys over the weekend...still can't find them.  I think one of the kids hid them and then forgot.

Ooo... Mya started to get into that phase.  Hid my bro-in-laws keys, then went to bed.  We had to wake her up (not easy) and get her to figure out what the hell we were talking about (again not easy)... they were under her bed.

We have since put a stop to that... so far.

Luckily I found my wallet under the baby's crib before I left for work the other day.

A final note from the vendor on the nasty shorts.  I had asked -

Any word on the crappy shorts?  Did you find anyone walking around pantsless or anything?

and they came back with -

Thanks for all of your understanding with us, its much appreciated. So far I haven't heard any update on the shorts, however we are going to be keeping a closer look at how our team handles the goods.

Exactly.

Name of vendor should be posted, but honestly I'll bet that a random worker at any of the major vendors could pull this off and do it.

Somewhere someone is missing a pair of shorts in the same size that appeared in your box.

That sounds like the intentional work of a disgruntled employee, But EWWW :o, I personally would never deal with them again.
