Anyone have a recommendation for cleaning fluid for Epson printers?
We used MIS in the past but the last gallon they sent reeked like fish. Gross/not cool for use in a small office space. They refused to replace it so I'm movin' on.
-
after all the trouble i went through on an old 4800, found ethanol based cleaners to be the best to break down ink residue.

i use a solution from Conde. seems to be working well on Brads hand-me-down epson 4800 :)

Should have clarified- it's not for busting heads but just something to put in the carts not running black. But good to know about the ethanol based stuff.
Will check out Conde, thanks.

I don't know what happened to that place. They used to be so good. We've since switched over to Cobra, and
can at last report that their dye based blacks are compatible with eachother.

We talkin' whisky? Tequila? Some o' that clear shine? (that would probably be best, no sugar)
FWIW if you aren't concerned with losing the other colors forever we've run 'em dry.

That is what we use it for is our blank cartridges, I think it was like $80 for 2-1000ml bottles and I'm still on the first one so far so good.

There are lots of DIY recipes for cheap, and most of them are pretty close to the same recipe: 8 parts windex (some say dilute it 50/50 with distilled water), 2 parts 99% isopropyl alcohol.

that clear shine do ya best but not to strong now, over 85% and it'll soften and melt the plastic
