Title: Bleed Resistant Whites
Post by: ErinAllenLamb on October 19, 2011, 11:27:33 AM
Hello All!!

Do any of you use a peroxide based bleed resistant white? Most bleed resistant whites in the market are no longer peroxide based as they were in the past. However, some printers still prefer it and in some cases the peroxide based bleed resistance will work better.  Just wondering if anybody was currently printing with one.

PM, Respond or email me at erin.lamb@polyone.com.

Thanks,

Erin

can you list some that are?  A lot of people don't know or care why a particular white prints better.  As long as they meet standards and print great, they don't research them past that point.

Generally you will know because they have an odor to them. Most ink manufacturers will mask the odor with lemon or vanilla.

The wilflex products are:
MVP White
Athletic Trophy White
Epic Athletic LB White
Phantom White

I am not 100% sure of competitive products...

hmmm...

we told our employees that one can tell a low bleed white from a regular white is from the odor.

we use Union 1070 Polywhite.   i dont know whether its peroxide based or not,  but it sure has an odor.
