Title: Puff Help
Post by: brandon on April 15, 2016, 02:55:51 PM
Hey Everyone,

I need to do some testing in the next week or two.  This can be plastisol but prefer water base. Trick here is going on poly/cotton blend hoodies by ITC. We need to print a puff black on them. Worried about the time in the chamber either ruining the hoodie or not curing the ink. Finding that perfect balance. The hoodie will be black and the puff needs to be black. Hoodie will be going through three times due to three print locations. I have not printed puff in years and years and am worried about the curing. Worried about everything actually haha. Any thoughts / advice would be great. Thank you!

If you're puffin 3 locs prepare for meltdown. It will most likey collapse. Black puffs usually bow out to charcoal so.....................Fast flash and overprint with black plas. Its the ole puff underbase trick

Thanks Tony. I actually told them this and their response was gray / black is fine as long as it puffs. But they prefer black

So I do have some water base puff additive on the way. It seems only one company makes it? That can't be so...

if you're doing the matsui waterbase puff, make sure you mix it with stretch clear... if you try it at 100% you'll have wash fastness issues (or at least we did)

Awesome, this helps a lot. Thank you! And yes, Matsui is one company and Permaset is the other
