I am looking to buy my first compact dryer... I've narrowed it down to M&R and Workhorse. Which is better in both quality and energy savings? Thanks in advance.

M&R for sure has some great options. I know you said you had narrowed down your search to these 2, but I can't help but mention BBC.

both will serve you well. To get better answers though, we'll need a little more information on you circumstances. What kind of printing, which models are you looking at, what kind of climate and so on . . .

I guess some details would help! I am screening tee's in a very small space. I am looking at the M&R Economax D-2 and the Workhorse CD227.
I would love to only print using waterbased inks, but my understanding I would need a more robust dryer so I will start with plastisol inks.

That helps, and where are you located? What's the weather like outside?

I'd think you would be fine with either one. Doubt you would get much WB printing done with a compact one like that.
I have a Workhorse we have had since we opened 10 years ago. To be fair though it has gotten maybe 50hrs a year of use in the last 7 years though. At the same time you'd probably be hard pressed to find someone that would complain about their M&R also.
Just a thought, when someone says "compact dryer" Vastex comes to mind for me.... Belive I also saw that their equipment is 10% off this month.

If your in Phoenix, I would think a Workhorse would be a done deal.

We used to have a Workhorse powerhouse, 2005. Never had any problems with it.

For what its worth, one of the final pieces of equipment I bought prior to selling my shop years back was an M&R Economax to avoid turning on one of my big dryers for small manual jobs. The dryer was an excellent buy. I believe I got an additional heat panel and an extended conveyor. Was amazed at how well it performed for its size. We printed a ton of sweatpants manually using this dryer with a 22" or so image. This little dryer could take them as fast as they can be printed.

I'm in mesa. I have had two of the workhorse dryers. They work great. Never replaced a element. I have fixed a few problems on both dryers. I got them both used. The guys at workhorse are great and really know the dryers. The parts are cheap also. Living this close to The Workhorse factory makes getting repairs and parts fast. If you have any questions let me know I would be happy to help.

I have a 36" MnR Radicure In So California (add is in classified)
I could shuttle it to you and install.
A lot more dryer for the money. Cures waterbase.
