I just printed around 60 of the Gildan 5000 and 64000 shirts with this ink. My customer called me back the other day and said she washed her shirt and all of this ink washed off. Considering this ink is the plus series and I've never had an issue with that series before is there something I may have done wrong? Is there anything I should know to make sure this ink doesn't wash off the shirts?

These inks are reflective and may well need more heat than you are used to using.

What kind of dryer and did you change your settings at all?

I've found that I need an extra 20 degrees on my dryer for this not to happen. We had the same issue with metalic mirror gold...not all of it would come off only sections.
Bumped it up another 20 degrees when we print that ink and all is well again.

What are the differences between the metallics and shimmers?

For me after a hard lesson, I use the same temp but instead of having my belt speed at 17, I lower it to 14 to give that reflective ink more time to absorb the heat.

this is where gas dryers really help...
*talking about which, I wonder how the Brown FireFly users handle this? I wonder how their thermo probes work looking at a highly reflective surface.

Ink coming off in the was is uncured. When you try a new ink, you need to give it the stretch test at least when it comes off the belt. If it cracks, more heat please. Someone mentioned that this ink is reflective? Like parabolic reflective, or just because it's "metallic"? And, yes, the better the dryer, the better the cure. A lot of infra-red only dryers need to be checked even with just different colors of ink... crappy lesson, but effective, yes?
