Title: coreldraw x5 : weld objects?
Post by: Mark @ Hurricane Printing on July 12, 2015, 06:00:38 PM
i have an underbase i am attempting to make for some text, which the text is in cursive......when i go to make a stroke around the underbase i get a stroke in some areas within the text where individual letters connect.....the text is converted to curves.

isn't there a way to "weld" this all together in coreldraw x5?

There is a weld. It's with the front minus back. Arrange then shaping drop downs

Select objects, then Arrange/Shaping/Weld

Your text will have to be converted to curves first before welding, and ungrouped if it groups the curves.

Actually, welding will turn it to curves in one step.
Then, you can break the curve apart if you need to fiddle with a center or something, but you shouldn't just to make a choked underbase.
