Am I missing something? Why can't I get a link to see pdf's in Reader, rather than only get the option to save them in this browser?
-
I do not know if understand your question.
But you should be able to save them out from the browser. There is a "save" thumbnail on the top lest corner, that will save you a PDF on your desktop or downloads folder.
-
That's the point. With Firefox, I can choose "Open with Reader" rather than only "Save"

Okay, digging a little deeper, I find that Chrome proudly sports its own pdf reader, but damned if it reads my pdf's!
I am going to fool around with disabling it, (and defaulting to the installed Adobe Reader) but am curious as to what is happening to others using Chrome.

For me, PDF files are opening in Chrome window. No issues.

I use chrome on a mac and pdfs are fine. Sorry if that's not much help.

opera is very good.

Foxit Reader is excellent and free

yeah Chrome on Mac opens them...

Mine still only gives me the option to save (which I can then open), but I am still playing around trying to find the way to skip that step, as I am used to in other browsers

Okay, I'm getting the same situation with jpg's as well.
I have to figure this out.
-
FireFox -
Tools/Options/Applications
Select JPEG Image (or whatever) and check the DropDown Action on the right - Change as needed.
But that don't help with Google Chrome :(

Okay, got a little further with this. It's looking a little better.
Yes, I do have to click "save" but that then also gives me a tab on the bottom that I can then click to open the jpg or pdf. It does require the file to be downloaded into a "downloaded" or other folder, but, I suppose that's no biggie, as I can always go clear this folder out if needed, and otherwise, may be grateful to actually have the file that I otherwise would have just viewed the one time. I don't have to go into that folder to view it initially, just click the tab at the bottom. I can live with that.
It's just different than IE or Firefox.
