Got this art from a customer last week, art really no problem, put do any of you know a simple quick way to put those little ruffles around this Fleur de lis aka the Saints Logo LOL. I know I can put them there with a bunch of little circles which looks to be a pain in the booty...I'm looking for the easy way around ;D

You are a corel guy aren't you?
-
Nope Illy, I've got corel and I need to learn more about it than just having it :-[
-
Corel has a Blend function. I am pretty sure there is a youtube vid on it.
-
Corel also has an option in the outline flyout menu that allows you to set custom dot/dash type outlines...as long as you have the fleur de lis as a a vector, you should be able to set an outline with appropriately sized "dots"...it will be on the centerline of the shape, so you should get the "half circle" edge you are looking for.

He would prefer a way in Illy, the program with which he is familiar!
-
You can do it with a custom brush. But the design would be perfect ovals or what ever shape you put in as your brush. You will have to mess with the attributes of the brush to get them to be spaced right. You need to set the rotation relent to path. See attached as an example.
-
To make a custom brush just open the brush window. Make a shape then drag that shape into the brush window. Then the options window will open. Then just select the path you want the brush on and select your brush from the brush window. To make changes to the brush just double click the brush in the brush window to open the brush options.

Grumpy just might have solved it for me, I think I'll try using the effects filter in illy and then go to distort & transform and use the zig-zig filter just might give what I looking for, at least do most of the heavy work anyway. I see a lot of corel user's in here by the way, I keep saying I'm going to learn corel but still find stuff to learn in illy all the time.
