Title: TSB turns four!
Post by: blue moon on April 03, 2015, 09:37:49 AM
No foolin'! On April 1st, it will have been four years since, Dan Campbell, Pierre Jamnicky and Andy Manes hung their shingle outside TheShirtBoard.com, the online destination many consider to be THE forum for the shirt decoration industry.

Concentrating initially on providing a haven from the turmoil and unfriendliness that was overly evident on the interwebs, these three stooges also wanted to appeal to a more sophisticated membership than on some sites catering mostly to beginners. Though more than welcome (and encouraged), newbies soon see that this is not your father's newbie site, but rather the “go-to” place for all levels, with real help, from real world, experienced printers, artists, embroiderers and industry experts.

The Shirt Board not only attracts experienced industry players, but also many from the “supply side” such as equipment manufacturers, and ink and chemical company representatives, and distributors which provides the answers directly from the horse's mouth (occasionally some other body parts, too!).

Besides “how to” and other technical tips on equipment, ink, seps, screens and business development, our members often find inspiration in the “What Have You Printed Lately?” section, as well as the DIY equipment section where our budding Rube Goldbergs show their ingenuity.

Pricing and business issues have their own few sections as well, covering the range from one person shops to huge operations. It should also be noted, that some sections are closed to the general public so verified members can talk about sensitive issues securely with colleagues.

In these four short years, The Shirt Board has grown to 1500+ members, averaging about 90 new posts every day, with 28,000+ daily page views. Last 30 days had visitors from 12,000 unique IP addresses and in 2014 we served 9,750,786 pages!

Many of these members enjoy the extended camaraderie of actually meeting up face to face a few times each year at trade shows. The TSB dinners at these events are always popular with the membership, and have probably helped in attracting some of the biggest names in industry free-loading, (just kidding).

The Shirt Board has also spawned a business club, with meetings rotating around the country as another example of the “analog” side of TSB.

So, here's hoping that the next four years for TheShirtBoard.com prove as bountiful as the first four!

TSB recently turned four and this was the press release that went out.

We are growing strong and are currently serving over 30K pages per day! According to google (which is off by about 75%) we had about 12K unique visitors last month. Most ppl are reading the board without registering. 90% of the traffic is from USA, but that still gives us a good international presence too.

Out of 1,500 registered members about 300 are active and participate on somewhat regular bases. Not bad, but would be better if we had more.

we should do something special for next year!

Being here is like being at a great party or similar event where time flies so fast when you are having fun.

Big thanks to Dan Campbell, Pierre Jamnicky and Andy Manes for their vision, energy,  and most of all the commitment to the industry and their friends and followers.

lastly we should all also take a collective bow for keeping this forum on vision as a fun, informative and progressive place.

Thanx folks, but the congrats should be going to all the members here making this place so great. It's the sharing, willingness to help and playing nice that makes us special. Andy, Dan and I are just maintenance crew that sweeps some stuff under the rug every now and then!
