Title: 5 Color on Gildan Indigo
Post by: cclaud3 on February 19, 2015, 10:38:30 AM
Ok, I've been struggling with this one for 1.5 days. It's due tomorrow morning. 300 pieces on gildan indigo. At least print is only 12"x~4" tall.

8 color automatic, but only 1 flash. No revolver mode but I have a step-back flash ability within 1 color of flash station.
Current order is white in head 2, flash head 3, green head 4, golden yellow head 5, bright blue head 6, pink in head 7.
Wiflex inks for all but the bright green-it's union.
I started with 200 for underbase, 2 strokes. Top colors look closest to final color. Also stried underbase with 2 strokes flash and 1 stroke but top colors are too light. I have 200, 230, 280 mesh available. Tight Shurloc screens.
280 mesh for other colors. Tried changing out blue & pink to 200 mesh and layed down angle for squeegees but the last color doesn't like stepped on. Both pink & blue.
Problem is blue & the pink don't like to be stepped on. I have changed the order and doesn't make a difference. Using minimal pressure
Was going to do a top white in head 8 but since I've having stepping-on issues don't think it's going to work.
Help! Thanks.

See image, I changed text for confidentiality.

cycle your press and use your flash on the trouble colors, its your only option.

Thanks, that's the option that kept me up all night.

Discharge underbase can save you in situations like these if you can go that route.
Nothing harder than large swaths of butt registered bright solid colors on dark grounds.

A discharge base would be idea, but for me I would go white base on a 110, yes I said it you can get a nice base print in one stroke, I might still double stroke the white and then green, pink, blue, yellow gold all one stroke on 230 mesh, squeegee at a 10 degree angle using 70/90/70 now that works in my shop on our press using one flash.

darryl is right, 110 base, flattened, will probably yield a bright enough white for this.  You might have to run it around twice, but heck, 300pcs, that should go pretty quickly still
