Title: Best Containers for WB/DC
Post by: tonypep on December 10, 2014, 11:02:28 AM
Specimen Jars from Lab Safety/Grainger. Trans or opaque white many sizes available. About .80. I know probably more than most need but you'll thank me

I've been using those for years jvanick, and honestly I think they suck.  I have them crack when mixing with some regularity, and storing wb inks for any long amount of time results in dried up ink, even in humid central texas. :(

wierd... we haven't had one crack (and we use a powerdrill with a bent brazing rod to stir with)... and WB ink that was stored in them has lasted at least a year...  guess it's one of those, 'it works in our shop' products ;)

Same here, the containers even develop a vacuum in the right conditions.

There are several different grades of these though, when that hurricane hit New Jersey a few years back it took out
the Pactiv plant and the ones they shipped as a substitute sucked.

We use the Superfos vapor lock 502 for everything now.  I buy a case every year or so but we wash them and reuse.  Cost is pretty low at higher qty and as high as a buck per or so by the 100pcs, for both container and lid.

Are those delitainers you linked to really airtight and durable to drill mix in?  I would expect a result like mimosa had but if they were higher grade I could see it working out.

We use the same ones jvanick linked to. We have never had them crack either, odd. Zoo- Yes they get air tight, I can take some pics of some that have sucked in if you would like!
