Is there a site to go to and put in PMS numbers and it tell formula online without downloading program. I use Union Inks but it only comes in a PC version and not a Mac
-
Have you tried WINE for it? Worth a shot.
-
Or load up virtual box and run a 'virtual' copy of windows in it.
Works great on my mac book pro...

I have hard copy of the formula book for my Mixopake, but I don't know if they're still available.

This is the link here. http://www.unionink.com/products/color-mixing-calculator.aspx (http://www.unionink.com/products/color-mixing-calculator.aspx)
You have to go through the process of registering and perhaps even being approved (12 hours or so... i could be wrong.)
Theres a few drop downs for the ink system your using.
Not as straight forward as the Windows version.
We keep an old PC is the workshop thats only really used for that program and recording formula's..

That's a bit more garbage than just WINE, most Mac ppl detest any form of windows on their machines. ;)

LOL.... That's probably why all the 'real' Mac users detest me...
I not only have and use virtual box, but usually have a terminal window or 2 open with VI running... LOL, that REALLY makes them cringe.

buy a $100 laptop on criags list and load the software, backup the databse on a flash drive.
Use that as your ink computer.

That's the one thing I do like about osx, it has a *nix back end that I can get in and do some real work with.
My bro-in-law was complaining about how he had several external hd's full of files that belong to the wrong user and was having to go through and take ownership through the GUI... I said that's easy, hang on... Whipped up a single command line that took owner ship of every file on the drive. Waited a few minutes till it completed and then had him slap n the next drive, modified the line... Rinse and repeat... The power of the command line!

I have XP on my Mac, and don't hate Windows users. I use VMWare's Fusion. Not very often though, no real need. Like the Coke and Pepsi debate, I can use either, but prefer the Mac that brought me to the dance. We also use a PC for the formulas, we have one in the office and the shipping dept. It does strike me odd that Union isn't hip enough to make it a pdf...
