Didn't Oyo have something like that in the pipeline about 3 or 4 years ago, except it "exposed" the mesh already mounted on retensionable frames rather than the other way around. Would allegedly yield very high halftone line counts, and be competitively priced (the mesh material) with film, emulsion, and chemistry.
They were supposed to demo it at the ISS shows but they never showed up with it.

We checked out Xpressreen's stuff at ISS the year we got into screenprinting. We were impressed with that lack of chemicals. We were concerned about the chemicals because we had a 2yo running around and we didn't want him exposed to the harsh crap. Their single color, single print was enticing, but we did our homework and found out it was too good to be true. We saw that there were registration issues and excessive pinhole problems. We talked with several people that had previously owned the system and warned us to stay away. One person said that if we buy it we might as well invest in several cases of tape just to cover up the pinhold problems. I wouldn't recommend this to a hobbyist, but I would recommend a YuDu (not that I ever used a YuDu).

I have always warned newbies about getting locked into this proprietary system and its initial ease of entry, but did come across a guy who sold sandals who did his screenprinting on some of them in-house and loved this set-up.

yeah, I had a friend that ran it. he now coats and exposes screens himself because it's easier. he still will use it on the occasional 1 color job, but i think his unit needs a new part that cost more than a decent expo table.
