STE ink usage

Holding steady. I keep track of screens imaged, among a lot of other things. For the last year and a half we have been running an M&R STE two head machine. Looking at my ink costs today, I'm still sitting at  7.5 cents a screen. Just a little tid bit I wanted to throw out there. In all fairness, that's almost exactly where we were using wax also.

Wow!  That's like 2266 screens per liter on average. Very nice.  Good to hear hard numbers.

Of course that's (per day) right?   Although, each shop will be a little different depending on the type (solid or halftones), small versus large that they typically print.

Wow! That is incredible. M&R quotes 0.07-0.11 per screen for the average printer (with exceptions obviously). But seeing you hold the low end that close must mean you are keeping up on maintenance very well! (more cleanings needed increasing ink cost per screen)

They are as good as I can get. Of course there is a little room for error. I note each time we add ink. And of course image size makes a difference as we do everything from newborn to 6X designs. So this is an average, but every time I check it I'm right at 7.5 cents. Of course, this is just in my shop. Results will vary.

If that's what you spent, it doesn't really matter how you break it out, one could go crazy trying to make it perfect. I mean, you could figure out per square inch, then check all the jobs for their volume, but there are better things to do with the time.
