Cleaning my press....

Caught some down time and decided to do some general house keeping. We have been running the chit out of hoodies and I've got some massive tack/fuzz build up on  the safety bar  next to my loading station. I've used press wash,  unstickydo from fran mar. This chit ain't cutting it. Any miracle chems out there?

Give Denatured Alcohol a try.  Just make sure to mask and glove up.

WD 40. Learned that from M&R, buy it bulk use it in a spraybottle. Breaks every bit of gunk down and leaves a nice protective layer behind. After wiping down, use compressed air to blow off any residue that may build up around bolts or knobs ect.

Yes, I would have also suggested WD40, and then I have also heard of folks wiping the newly cleaned surfaces with mineral oil to reduce the attraction to dust bunnies in the future.

Xenon Xenzu Pac.  Adhesive remover with an ink degradent added.  $35 a gallon.  $175 for a fiver.

I've actually used car wax on my presses after we clean them well. Cleaning real bad messes takes bad chemicals sometimes

WD40 gives me a wicked headache so I stay away from it but it works. There are some degreasers that are awesome for this.......CCI Nutralyze Conc is one. Then baby oil after.

I have always shuddered at the thought of the number of babies required to press to make one lousy pint of Baby Oil

The manual for my vintage paper cutter suggests doing this to the table. Works pretty nice and keeps the rust away.
