Very specific discharge question
« on: October 17, 2013, 01:32:29 PM »
I have used clear discharge on the Gildan 18700 "vintage" moss green hoodies before which turned out awesome. The print color took the hue of the hoodie liner which was a bright lime green.

Has anyone done this before? The question I have is if this will work on the Independent Hoodies PRM70DZ. Their contrasting liner color is very similar to Gildans and I'm hoping the clear will take on that color.

Random question I know, but it's a really cool effect that I want on the nicer independent hoodie.

Thanks!

Yes, it will come out as a hue of the brighter color that is heathered throughout the hoodie. We have two jobs that use that hoodie all the time and we use the clear bright discharge base.

Thanks!! That's exactly what I needed to know to convince them NOT to just print white on them.

But what if they want white? Not being a wise guy; are you talking about getting the customer to accept a different color? A fashion "thing" so to speak?

They want cool & different. They had seen a print I did on a Gildan vintage heather hoodie and loved the effect. I was 100% up front telling them the Independent hoodies MAY NOT produce the same effect and worst case would come out off-white on some colors.

They want the coolness, but if we could predict the future and know they'd all turn out off-white, they'd probably want a bright white.  They're going to risk it with this order.

Testing isn't an option I'm offering as they're doing 4 different color hoodies and don't want to pay the cost to cover the time it would take to test. Small run on these, under 24 pieces.

Those hoodies are SUPER nice. We have had real good luck with them. The customer we print them for sells them in a retail store and does real well. Hope it goes well for you!
