Close, we got the one with the chiller.  Make an offer on there!  I did and was shocked when a rep called to say they accepted it.  That company apparently purchased a whole mess of these direct from Atlas Copco at a very good rate.

Do you mind sharing what you offered?

Check out eaton compressors they have 10 hp single phase 45cfm for  less than $8000. Rotaryscrew.

Anyone here own an Eaton?

We have an Eaton rotary screw here. Had it for about 3 years now, run it everyday for minimum 10 hours and have not had any issues with it yet other then one of the factory drive belts started to come apart about a month after we got the machine. I replaced that belt as to me it looked like a faulty belt and from that day on we have had zero issues. I have heard some "stories" of unsatisfied eaton clients but our experience was really good and the compressor itself has worked great for us. We have a professional tech come service the compressor every other month or so which has probably helped us not run into issues with it. I would certainly purchase another compressor again from Eaton based on our current compressor.

The variable speed is what IR claims is my problem. The power is not consistent enough it the mother board keeps failing. That is a $4500.00 for mine. If I were you I would make sure to get a written warranty that covers parts, service and down time. We ended up spending another $1200.00 on a line conditioner from the utility and it did not help. Please check that there is proof of the variable speed performing for at least a couple years before you jump in to that.
Atlas may be okay but the variable speed ingrosol rand I have is a $10k paper weight.

Was this it Zoo?
http://www.compressorworld.com/7-5-HP-Chicago-Pneumatic-Rotary-Screw-Air-Compres-p/cpn%207.5%20150%20208-fslash-230-fslash-460%20200l.htm

They will take $3000 shipped for this one but my concern if you look at the specs its 78db for the 7.5 rotary where Eaton's 7.5 piston is 73db and Belaire and Chichao Pneumatic 7.5 piston quiet series are 69db. I think with the compressor being in the shop decibel level is a major selling point for me.

You keep focusing on Hp when it's cfm that counts, you could put a 20 hp motor in front of a 17 cfm pump but it will still only develop 17 cfm. What's the required cfm for the press? That CP screw compressor is only 20 cfm, seems a little small for an all air press.

We have the 7.5 CP like Zoo and it has been great.  It did keep up with a 6/8 Freedom and 8/10 Rhino both all air presses, though it did run almost to nonstop.  Now with one AC/servo press and belt tracking on our Interchange it cycles on much much lesss

we have an Atlas Copco GA-18 VSD here - its nearly too big for us (114 cfm @ 109 psi) the display shows that it gets about 30% load - any less and moisture would accumulate and cause problems.

weve had it about a year and a few months.  we did get a rebate from the electricity supplier - i hope your Atlas rep mentioned the possibility.

the one we are looking at I guess is new technology, that doesn't have that issue. It's Oil cooled.
