Workhorse Odyssey Micros

I found a used Workhorse Odyssey 6/6 in great condition for what seems like a great price, but it is a few hours drive.  I have never used one of these presses, and I understand it is an entry level press, but does anyone have experience with the micros?  I understand tilt and off-contact are not tool-less, but honestly don't care too much about that if the x/y right left work.  Our current press has micros that occasionally lose registration when you loosen them to make adjustments, and I am itching for an upgrade.  I am currently using a 6/2 silver press (yea i know...but it gets the job done), and while I am saving for a higher level press (about half way to a 6/6 sidewinder with air clamps), the last month I have had a huge influx of 300-2000 shirt multicolor orders and I desperately need to upgrade to more stations for cool off time between colors and meet deadlines.

Any info is appreciated, or a line on another worthwhile 6/6 for a steal.  I'd rather not finance a press, but I guess that would be an option if anyone has any experience with that process and would recommend it.

I'd keep an eye out for a non-Oddysey, but if you need something now, you don't have many choices.

If you have the work/space/power, get an auto as soon as you can.

we have an odessy and it is a great press.  the micros are very easy to use and the off contact and tilt are very easy as well.  it will be a step up from your current machine as well.  plus if you do need to do a rehab on a head or 2 it is very inexpensive and easy to get parts.

I've had my eye out for a while for a vastex 2000, antec, or sidewinder.  They just don't come up used too often for under 3k, which is sort of my magic number right now in anticipation of future growth.  I would love to get into an auto now, especially since most of these jobs are low numbers of colors and not huge art so I could get away with something older and smaller.  I am limited in a number of ways at my current location, no 3 phase, not a lot of space.  My longer term goal is buying an auto next summer as I am moving to a new, larger space, but I didn't expect to land these clients so quickly and all at the same time.  It would be great to already have substantial savings or a friendly investor, but it isn't happening so my options are limited.

The main thing is I just don't want to have to fight shitty micros.  I hear all kinds of horror stories, and simply want something that will hold registration and not loosen with adjustment.  If this odessey can do that I will buy it asap.

ill take some flack for this but all micros are a pain! The best ones from my research are from Anatol and I believe Brown and Antec where they are independent and don't move when locking down.

Does MHM have a manual? Those are the best micros...

Yeah if MHM made a manual it would probably cost more than a basic auto.

Hell, I have a 6/4 Vastex 2000HD basically rotting away in my storage shed that I'd let go for pretty cheap.  I'm about 6 hours away from you in SE New Mexico.

Unless you have used all micros that statement doesn't hold much water.  Vastex micros are the bees knees.  Better than anything I've seen or used.

I've used a fair number of micros, and the vastex are far and away the best I've played with in person.  I understand the m&r micros are going to work fine, and I hear only good things about the antec micros, but I have seen negative threads and comments on basically every other manufacturer, from losing registration, to movement on tightening, to slop and play, to just being a poorly designed pain in the ass.
