We use CCI Discharge white every day, and its the best white we have tried yet. You can probably add some but I would venture to say you will find clumping and clogging in your screen. But anything is worth a try I guess.

Magna is the old wilflex oasis, it's good, but I didn't like it as much as the CCI, and the CCI always seemed brighter to me. The Rutland is also a good product, but CCI was the winner to us. Sericol performed just the same as CCI, stinks a little more, but is in my top two. It's more money though, so for the price, and the consistency of CCI's D-White is our winner. I am waiting on a sample kit of the sericol pre-mixed colors to try out. It's supposed to be very consistent in pms matching over any of the pigment methods from guys I know who print 100% water base in their shops. I am sure we will stay with CCI D-white though, it's price is awesome and it's very consistent and easy to work with. Also, we switched to CCI's activator, we had a huge pail of Matsui that we were using for the past couple of years, it ran out, went to the CCI activator, and it made a huge difference in brightness of the prints, it also does not stink anywhere close to the Matsui activator. We experimented adding white pigment to see if we could get a more "snow white" white, I think that is just impossible with discharge whites right now. Unless you do some print flash prints, but then you are defeating the purpose of a "no feel" ink print. We did tons of experimenting on different brands, styles and colors of shirts to find which have the best reaction with the discharge inks, and try to push our customers towards those that reacted the best, other wise we make sure they understand they may end up with a bone white. Gildan softstyle has a nice reaction, tultex, American apparel, and next level, and Anvil fashion styles. My wife has a rack of the shirts that have the nicest white discharge and then the rest to show customers the difference. Some customers like the vintage look of say a royal blue shirt that doesn't discharge properly, or the bone look, but we make sure they know up front. To get the "true bright white", discharge underbase, and top coat with a nice bright reduced plastisol,we use Street Fighter white with some Wilflex fashion base added it, very soft finish and bright poppin white all the time with the discharge underbase.

Magna is NOT the old wilflex, its has been reformulated, so I am told by their reps.  Magna Super White ZFS IMO is far superior to CCI white.  I have done numerous tests with both.  Both are great products, but in terms of who is the whitest, Magna wins easily.

well then nazdar must not know what they are talking about as they said all they did was re-lable it, honestly, I have both here and tried magna vs the "old" oasis, same thing, same performance, same smell, same washout , CCI is still the winner to me. Just my opinion. This is a perfect example though of reps and their mis-information. Here Dirk is told one thing, we are told another thing, I would venture to say, there is someone else out there with a whole different thing. Reminds me a year or so ago, a "Poly One" employee telling me that Quick white's secret is a slight bit of Puff added in their formula, then a guy in California asking his Wilflex rep and getting a totally different story. What are we to believe these days huh lol

Who knows right?  There are Nazdar reps lurking here who know surely one will speak up.  Peter? Rob?  Silent ones?

Well since I worked for years with Wilflex, and now have been with Nazdar for over a year (my time flies!) ... I will respond.

First ... The Magna labeled discharge IS a different formulation than the Magna sold under the Oasis label.  Fact.  Just look at the viscosity -- Oasis was much thicker in viscosity.  Super White under Oasis could be shoveled out of the drum.  The Magna labeled product is very low in viscosity and more stable.

And Quick white -- it is not a "puffing agent" but it IS an expansion agent that is used for dye migration resistance.  ALL the ink manufacturers use this or a variation for BR.  It IS NOT the blowing agent that is used in a puff ink.  Although as some one stated, that is an OLD trick to gain opacity.  You just need to watch it or you really blow out your detail.  The "expansion" agents are used for BR primarily -- they are NOT in cotton only whites.

Hope this helps some.....

Rob, thanks for taking the time to clear up the mis-information. It's good to see someone who knows actually post publicly. I can tell you that there are dealers out there that totally mis-inform on these products, without calling anyone out personally it's probably a good idea for "phone csr's" to be properly educated, because it was  a girl over the phone that told us that nazdar's magna was the exact same thing as Oasis, just re-labled. Not the worst thing in the world, but in a forum like this, those tid bits pass around and get things all wacky, lol. Thank you again for clarifying. I can't wait until I see my wiflex guy next to pass on the "actual" information  ;D
