Platten brackets for older Javelins
« on: June 25, 2013, 09:13:03 AM »
I'm getting ready to convert my stock of homemade and otherwise acquired platens ready to run on my Javelin, but I need brackets.

The Javelin I have isn't equipped with the newer quick release system.

Has anybody found a source for the brackets outside of the manufacturers?  Or a creative way to build their own?   I have a bunch of sleeve platens, youth platens, and some custom ones for printing koozies and the like, and at 8 platens per set, it would be great to avoid the cost of all new parts.

Thanks!
-J

If they are the old galvanized steel ones you may be able to go to a sheet metal shop and see how much it would cost to have some bent up

We have them. They are an extruded aluminum.
However, our are 1/8" shorter in height than the originals. We did this to adjust for the soft top pallet  rubber that we use.
The 16" length is $45. They have a load-side angle cut in them and include the high performance double sided tape that is used to attach the bracket to the pallet.

You can order them from our website or call us at 800-228-4668.

I did the quick release conversion that Workhorse sells. It was under $70 per head and came with new bracket and quick release. Works well.
