very cool! Being able to do the moving parts is pretty impressive.

here's one on ebay:

I wonder how much the consumables are? I wonder if the're temperamental like a DTG printer?
A 3D printer but DTG still isn't quite there yet.

DTG printers are not temperamental...unless you get an epson based one.

I just turned 70,000 prints on ours and I've replaced 1 printhead and I've had maybe 1 day of downtime.  Not bad in 5 years.  I've been running one since 2003 and I can tell you, nothing is more reliable than a Brother GT-541 printer.

These have been around for a while. I used to use one to prototype off road race parts. We actually designed a whole race truck in Solid Works and printed out the whole role cage structure and all of the suspension. It allowed us to see the assembled race truck in a true 3d model before actually building it. We were even able to get the suspension to cycle up and down. Awesome technology for sure.

I've seen one that uses layers of paper stacked on top of one another.

There is also one out there that can print human skin.  I say they should incorporate that one with an inkjet and then you can do tattoos at the same time as skin grafts.
