Do any manufacturers have autos in stock ready to go?

Are you just looking for any brand?  If you don't care what press it is,  you could probably find a showroom unit from someone I would imagine.

If you can hold off till August you could probably pick one up right from the ISS Las Vegas show.  You would probably need to talk to a manufacturer a head of time to "pre-buy" it.  You usually get a nice deal for something like this.  Depending on how far you live, rent a U-haul and drive it back yourself.  I did this back in the day when they had ISS Chicago.

Does the "looking" for a press mean you had some luck with the insurance on your damaged on delivery press?

I spoke to the insurance guy on Friday and he was actually very nice and said there should be no problem"totaling" it out if I can produce a repair estimate, just gotta find someone to do that.

Not sure I can wait till August. We will be acquiring a new large contract customer in about 3 weeks and I thought I was gonna be prepared with the mess of a press we have on the floor now. No such luck.

Awesome to hear about the insurance guy! Tough deal with the new customer though. I would imagine there has to be a supplier or two in CA ;) start calling and see who has a "showroom" press. Have you thought about farming the first job or two out? Even if you break even on the first jobs subbing them out it may buy you some time. I would hate to see you just jump into a press because it is around and hate it latter....
Just my opinion though.

I hear ya there. I am between a rock and a hard place. My money is basically tied up in the mangled press and could be months before an actual payout is done yet we can't slow our business down because of it. Hopefully a solution to my madness comes soon.

a broker might be your best bet...and it's used/refurbed, so the price will be lower.

you can also check with folks like Winston, they tend to know if something is about to pop up or what's out there in general.

I Contacted my S.Roque guy and it sounded like they may have a press there in L.A. also sounded like they may have access to a used MHM E-Type there.  I imagine they will contact you.
Another thought is Workhorse, they are pretty close to you there and may have something at their factory in AZ.

Workhorse usually has machines ready to ship. Was there last week, for tech training, and they had an impressive amount of inventory.

Gerry.
I'll be happy to run a job or two for you at cost to help you out while you get a new machine. Just get us all of the details if you're interested. I know the spot you're in, and I'm happy to help you out as a friend of mine did when I needed it.
Just let me know.
Thanks,
Paul

The MHM E Type is probably the one coming out of Forward in Oakland, they just installed 2 Roque machines. The E type is pretty compact machine if your are tight on space.
