Our inkjet film is "bleeding"

We have been fairly happy until now with the fixxons wp inkjet film but recently some issues came up. We had an image, all typeface with a dot pattern knocked out of it, which was all nice as it came out of the printer but then the next day almost all the dots where gone. They kind of filled in with ink over night as if the ink is bleeding. Well it`s visible on the regi marks to. It`s like a brown color around all the edges. We operate here at a humidity of up to 75% during summer month but I never had this problem before. Is there a chance that our printer is putting too much ink down? We work with WASATCH RIP.
Anyway I tried to output the film again and the same was happening.

yup, too much ink.  i had the same problem.  turn it down to around 85-90%  if it's a 48** series, if it's a 3000, go down to around 80-85%.

Hm I`m at 1440x1440 dpi which is fairly slow at printing, the ink reduction is set to 80%.

back the ink down a little more and check the expsoure.  are you using really cheap film?

Inkjet film is designed to take water based ink on one side. If it is really humid and you are getting the problem, apart from dropping the density I would try to keep it away from humidity. We are in a subtropical area and found a similar problem went away when we kept the film in the airconditioning.
