Customer audit
« on: June 03, 2013, 07:31:40 PM »
Hi has anyone dealt with a customer audit?, were a small shop but deal with some bigger companies. We are having to do an audt with them about
business practices. This is something new for me and I think it may have something to do with Bangladesh , some of the questions were odd like " do I house employees in dormitories" etc.

I'm wondering if this is becoming an Insurance issue.

Basically I'm a little embarrassed we are a small shop in a small space compared to there 200k sq' warehouse facility. We can crank out the shirts and DONT miss del. dates
Not sure how this is going to go.

Never be embarrassed about who you are or the size of your business, let your past and future performance do the talking. Answer the questions and what happens , happens... it will probably not affect your relationship with them at all.

We had to do a few years ago for a company that purchases for Hyundai. I was stressed about the question too. In the end I don't think it had any effect. We still do business with them. It may have even helped for them to know that we are a small shop that is totally inside the USA.

These are standard questions. They want to know your whole process to see  if you treat your workers properly. one must remember not a lot of places in the world that a worker can sue the employee fairly when something goes wrong.
Another thing they look at are environmental issues.

i think it will cost them more to clean up their image than to get somewhere cheap that breaks all the enviroental or himan rights rules.

Just be yourself and dont promise what you cant do because the penalty can be severe.

Well seemed to go Ok, I think it was more  a CEO wanting to meet suppliers. New to decorated garments screen printing etc.
Seemed to be on same page regarding service and delivery times.
Found out it was just a standard customer audit form from web.
