Gauntlet fire up?

So I went to get our '92 GT8 fired up (finally) yesterday and all I'm getting is a clicking noise coming out of the control box, kinda sounds like a turn signal.  No lamps on. 

Air's in proper, plugged in, safety cables attached, etc.  Figured I'm missing something really obvious, press ran before the move and we were gentle with moving it.

I took binkspot's advice and called M&R.  I feel bad asking them to provide service on a 20 yo press because they always do it and don't bat an eye.  Rich, you guys should set up a donation button or something.

It's a safety cable error code.  Cables were fine pre-move and are all clean and hooked up so troubleshooting that now.

I would unscrew them and make sure they didn't come unsoldered.  It's normal for them to do that over time.  Also, check where they hook in in the center of the carousel.

They still service them like that because they built them to last even longer. I get the same service on my 22 year old Challenger just as I would on a 2013 machine. It is why I wont buy anything else.

A little stumped so far.  I have continuity across the cable loop so it's not the cables themselves.

I checked all connections up top, looks fine.  I have the programmer open to take a peek if something was bumped when I replaced the battery.  Weird...I tried not to touch this thing after the move, except to replace the battery and clean and it wasn't coding for safety cables at it's previous home.

Well, that was a roller coaster.   

Thanks Winston for the help, deeply appreciated.  Winston thought I had a lost program as we weren't getting any input response, looked like a bad situation, but turns out its not!  I popped the controller open with the M&R tech on the line and I have no clue what we did exactly to cause this but the program "woke up" after I replaced the controller top.  We were checking for 24v dc, fuses, etc. and it jump started the input panel into reading out.  FYI, Winston, the run light is still red on the omron, never went to green but is operational, in case that's helpful later.

Got back around to the safety cable issue, jumped it at the controller and, voila, fully functional press.  Must be a short or something in the safety wiring in one of the heads.

Also, it's been said on the internet many times, but M&R service - mind blown.

Thats funny an old press leaves the turn signal on!!!  I live in a older area "snowbirds" and they do leave turn signal's on a long time. It may just be typical for old things. Just do like the old guys here. Wait until the bulb burns out

Very cool!  I wonder about those old PLC's--the one on the GT-8 I ran would occasionally 'forget' what it was doing on revolver mode, or hiccup as such every month or two, but still kept on plugging.

The safety cords are just a continuous loop--it's an open circuit or intermittent connection you'll want to look for.  A mostly destroyed cord will work, and just stop the press occasionally (when the cord shakes just right)
