burnout tees

we just had a client request a print on burnout tees. Any tricks to these? i've never done them before. most likely it'll be 2 colors.

WB or discharge can result in some cool effects but not always what the client is looking for. We've done white DC on darks and its awesome. Plastisol is a drag. Watch out for scorching and tack issues.

I agree with Tony watch your heat this things will burn quick, yes plastisol is a pain, but what we do is print with plastisol and then heat press them, and that makes the print nice and soft...we use discharge white, but the white just was not white like the custy wanted.

perfect, thank you both very much! I'm hoping we can go with a light color on these, and do red and black waterbase, making it really easy

We have good results by thinning down our Plastisols.  60 color/40 soft base or 70 color/30 soft base Wilflex Epic series.  Push through 230 mesh with very light pressure.

We print a lot of these. Based out plastisols all the way down to 10% color to soft hand or fashion base. Always make sure that they will support the art or your screwed.

All of the above are good ways for sure. We just do the water base / discharge route. And for the traditional "white" look instead of discharge white we print an opaque white water base, flash, and print again. Soft hand on those, nice

All good, no worries. We just use opaque white water base, p/f/p. I believe we are doing some this Friday. Will have to check the schedule but if so I will post pics.

cool. we'd be printing these next week. it's going to be a bright pink tee with white and black print, so i'm super interested in the best way to do these.

I would highly suggest getting in a sample early and printing one. Take home and wash and dry the heck out of it. Maybe have your dog roll around in it and wash again.

But seriously, do a tester and document. Will remove the worry factor.
