« on: April 04, 2013, 01:54:56 PM »
I just hooked up our omni flash on our gauntlet, and i can't figure out how to change the temp. on it. I thought you could, but maybe i was mistaken?

is there a way to change it? i'm trying to print something that needs a super low flash

Never used one myself but most I've seen do have temp control on the unit itself. I'd guess if it's
not obvious it's not there.

Height of panel above garment will affect temp quite a bit.

button labeled "pv/sv"  push that once to take you from present value to set value.  change temp, push enter, then push pv/sv button to go back to monitoring the flashes present value/temp.

what should my temp. be set at? Right now it seems SUPER high, it's about 1100. Should it be that hot?

depends on single stroke/double stroke but we set ours around 900 for t's and 600 for sweats...give or take the millions of other variables...
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

this might seem like an odd question, but how long does it take to warm up to that? it seems like ours takes FOREVER.

if you have 208 voltage should be 15-20 minutes to 975. If you have 240 volts should be 10-15 minutes.

I run ours at 900 normally to 800 sometimes. Takes 1/2 to warm or longer. How about yours.

looks like i'm at about 400 degrees, after letting it warm up for about 30 mins. Should i replace the temp. gauge?

I would call service, might be the thermo couple. 1st check what voltage and amperage is coming in. esp. amps that will make a difference in how long it take to warm up and if anything else on that circuit. That will make a difference also.

you either have a voltage problem or a panel is bad. Definitely you need a volt meter or electrician to troubleshoot. It's acting like its only getting 110 volts.

That is an important piece of information. Order a replacement before you get an electrician. He cannot help you if half the panel is not working. Have him replace the panel and use the proper hardware for hooking up the panel. Stainless steel nut, bolt, and washer with nickel plated steel stakons. Do not use sink plated copper in this application.

I have a omni flash with a cage and it could be as simple as this. Maybe one of lights might be burned out on the digit display. Maybe if you have it set for 900 it might show uo as 400. It is that way on my digital display, not sure which part of the number is missing. Set it for 900, print a shirt and flash it for 8 seconds, pull it back and see if it is dry. I flash shirts at 900, can be 4 to 9 seconds depending on design and number of operaters. Call m&r and get the maual if it available. Your next question should be, How do i manually flash a shirt? I can not put it into words right now, i have it written down at work, if you need it let me know.
