My old precision vortex was having some issues that were a little hard to diagnose.  All safety's checked out, flame ignition good, but the flame signal would drop out randomly and put the BRAIN back into purge mode.  After a few phone calls with Winston, we narrowed it down to the gas flow high pressure switch point being set a little too low.  Winston said gas companies sometimes change pressures with seasonal changes.  There were fresh marks on the ground around the property too, so another guess is that someone got new service and they cranked the pressure a little to compensate.

Per Winston's orders, I'll be adding an inline pressure gauge for future diagnosis.

Oh and he took my call while in California living the dream  8)

He's a huge benefit to the industry, what an awesome guy to chat with and learn from.

I agree Alan.  I know plenty of people in this industry, plenty of movers and shakers, plenty of suits, plenty of guru's and plenty of excellent printers and shops. After being around all walks of life in this business, It's clear when you meet a real honest to goodness guru that simply wants to make a good living and help people in the same job. He's one that knows he knows, but is not of a boisterous personality. Thats Winston.

He's one of those guys that only comes along every now and then and so down to earth. I put him in the Mark Coudrey category. I like Mark 1st as a person, 2ndly as a top guru. I wish he was a family member so I could chat more.
