MSP 3140 CTS

Our new Computer to Screen 3140 hits the dock tomorrow. Once I get it going this week I'll let everyone know our thoughts of exposing screens via glass vs no glass and post the results. I've been looking forward to this test so I'll post results once I'm finished. I know Sam has retrofitted his 3140 with a cts style setup but is there anyone else with one of these we can compare results to? Just curious.

Just got our unit up and running.... SUPER IMPRESSED with this as m&r really knocked it out of the park with this design. We could not have thought out and built a better unit for our shop.... I haven't done much testing yet but we are exposing our cts screens in 15 ltu's right now..... Once I can do some testing later this week I'll know more but as of right now this cts 3140 totally kicks ass! Thanks M&R!

How long are the light units right now with the new bulb?  I've got a new bulb on order and can't wait for it to get here.  Our exposures are a little long right now and we've got too much stuff to be doing rather than waiting on our light source.

Are you using a dual cure or PP?  I've noticed the 3 PP's that we've used recently are exposing with less light units (although longer overall times due to bulb aging) and we've not changed coating techniques or have different stencil thicknesses than in the past.  That's a good thing if they are crosslinking faster but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or am I going crazy.

If his new 3140 is like ours my LTU's were almost a second exact.

When comparing the two units mentioned, keep in mind that the MSP3140 is an Instant Start unit and the MSP3140 CTS is a shuttered unit.  Also note that exposing CTS generated screens will be 40-60% faster when exposed in the rack underneath the glass on our CTS exposure units.  All of our exposure units are adjusted in the factory with a new lamp and correct tap setting on transformer so that the units on the Integrator are approximately equal to seconds.

I love the shuttered units, it would be hard for me to go back to an instant on.  I've got a Richmond Screenmaker though, which should be comparable to the CTS for the most part.  I ordered the 10K bulb for our unit but I'm not sure how that will relate to the 3140 CTS 6K.  I wouldn't mind knowing how it does compare and I'd seriously doubt our 10K bulb would be 40% faster than a 6K, or that the 10K was really a 10K.  10K just seems a bit excessive when you don't see many other manufacturers with a bulb that strong.
