« on: February 07, 2013, 04:34:13 PM »

The inside of my exposure unit blanket is dirty with ink.
Wanting to know the best way to clean it?
Type of chemical to use if so.
Thanks a million!

Never underestimate the power of baby wipes.

Also, get a black cloth and put it over your screen when you expose. It will keep the blanket just like new.

I like the cloth idea but its really the same as just using the blanket. They both get dirty and need to be cleaned. Maybe get a bunch of cloths and attach all of them. Then you can do like the dirt bike guys and tear then off when they get too dirty.

Perhaps a ride in the household washing machine will clean the "helper" cloth.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

We use ickee stickee and franmar color change, the a regular household orange cleaner. Once a week, as well as clean the glass. We splurge and use brand name glass cleaner with lint free wipes.

You can also use black plastic, like garbage can liners or drop cloth. Dirt cheap and throw it away when it's dirty. Or you can keep your frames clean.

Been doing that since day one. Used to buy bolt yard goods jersey fabric. Just about anything will work. The best way to clean the blanket is not to get it dirty!

The best way is to not get it dirty in the first place.

Take an extra minute or two during reclaim and get those frames nice and clean before coat and expose.
