matsui 301 RC Black

I have been having better results when I thin my Magna DC inks with a little water. I'm going to try out using Matsui 301 RC black today rather than mixing a black. While I can test the ink straight and mixed with some water I thought I would ask what others are doing when they print with the 301 Black.

straight out of the bucket or add a touch of fixer-n and print on the auto.

I like it with a touch of curable reducer but it's not critical. I like the consistency of the black straight out of the bucket over some of the other rc colors.

Here are a few prints from my first print run with the matsui black.  The matsui 301 Black is a very nice addition to my screen printing arsenal. Thank you for the replies and guidance. I did use it straight from the can. It didn't need any thinning for sure. Really nice deep black!

Lost a little white opacity by printing second to last, but printing the yellow last made it pop and kept it from being swallowed up by the red.

Inks ran very well. Toward the end of my 50 piece run I had some issues with the ink clearing the screens. Cleaned off the build up, thinned the ink a little and still had a hard time. I guess the 400+ passes with the 17" squeegee driving the wb into the substrate on my manual just plain wore me down! Either I'm getting old, don't print enough anymore, need an automatic or should start printing smaller images with lower color counts (no f'n way!).

Did I say how much I like my Magna ULF DC inks? Combined with the matsui black I have relatively bright lights and  great dark colors in an almost no hand print that makes me smile and keeps my neighbors happy too. Thank you to everyone who has helped me make the plunge into WB and DC!
