Dirty Water/sand in water
« on: February 11, 2013, 04:21:21 PM »
Has anyone ever experienced sand in their water? It seems like we are seeing more and more of it here, and it's really start to put a damper on our screens, as we are getting a TON of pin holes.

We have a well in our property here in Houston, and i've been told multiple things like "it'll work itself out", or "your well is to shallow", or even "it's to close to the bottom of the well"

I've also been told that we can get filters, but it may not catch the sand coming out in our lines, as it's to fine.

Anyone have any solutions for this?

You need to change your filter at the bottom of the pump ( Costly)or installed a filter at your holding tank before water comes your way.

PS only time you start to get sand in your pipes is if your pump has came unprimed or stop pumping water and had to be primed back up, but it will work itself out...just run the water for a bit and it should pull it all out.
