3 out of 7 today!!!
« on: June 21, 2011, 03:47:19 PM »
That has to be some kind of record. 3 screens popped out of 7 when I was cleaning them. I also woke up to a flat tire on my car. It's not my day.

WOW, call it a day, go home and go to sleep! Even better, stay where you are and sleep there! Tomorrow should be better.
Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

It was when I was reclaiming them. They are static aluminums and the glue released on 2 of them the 3rd split right down the middle of the mesh. They where old screens about 2 years old, One was 4 months. It could be worse they could of done it on the press.

I have about thirty or so static screens that are one by one also losing their grip, as some say as I am as well! As they go, they are being replaced with panel frames. I will also take a look at the Shur-loc conversions.

I like the conversion idea too. But adding 4 pounds to each frame. I want to hear how everyone else feels about them.

Ya know, I seem to remember that some CCI screen cleaning chemicals specifically said that they were not good for glued frames.
Fact is, no matter what is the hot set-up in screens today, glued frames are still a major part of the industry, and I'm wondering about the compatibility of this in general, especially with dip tanks.

Frog beat me to the punch.

But I will say it anyways certain haze removers will attack the mesh glue. Other than that a proper glued screen should outlast the mesh.

I know Brad has given us some pretty solid info on the Shurloc conversion kits, but I'll also add my .02 asap after my kit gets here.  It should arrive on Thursday or Friday and it will be in production the same day.  I also have some 330 s thread arriving then too, can't wait to give those a go.  Stay tuned Boarders.

You should like them.  I am still working on getting the last of mine into production.

I don't mind the weight, you get used to it.  Grow some forearms you weaklings.

The best part about them is they now sink in the dip tank.

Thanks, now I have to clean-up all the coffee I just snorted onto the keyboard.  :o

I get grief about how tight I make all of the clamp and micro knobs when I set-up, may be hard to take down but it stays in position.  8)

Coffee through the nostril hurts.  I know from experience.

My dad torques the piss out of knobs.  I think that is why the bolts on the press break.

Get bigger bolts grade 5 or higher -  ;)

It takes a wrench for me to break a grade 8... ::)
