Any birdwatchers out there....??
« on: June 14, 2011, 09:52:41 PM »
No Squeezee... not the UK type of "bird"

All week.. I've been watching a pair of lessor Bitterns building a twig nest 15 foot from my porch window.
Today the hen dropped two powder blue eggs.
We've had them nest here before... the chicks are all neck for about a month.
Ain't nature great !

Every Sunday morning we go walk our dog at a local place, Heather Farm Park that has both a cement pond filled with ducks and extreme poop producing geese.(They have made much of the park unusable)
A short distance away, is a natural lake with much more exotic choices. I'll look out some pics, but here are some I found online from another local.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Nice photo.  I thought for a moment that we have those in my pond here. Shaped similar but mine in my area are more gray in color. Prob. not the exact same species. Dirty buggers eat all of our Bluegill.

I've been a birder since I was a kid. I'm always looking for and noticing birds, even when I'm not aware of it. My wife and I have a house in southern AZ, which is near one of the best places for birding in the US.

I've got pix, but I don't get out with my gear as much as I'd like. Also had a hummingbird nest right at eye level last year in my front yard, right outside my office window. I'll post some pix, but till then, here's some from a trip to Brazil I took a couple years ago.

I have a couple of feeders, and really enjoy just watching them. We have an 8 color going up Friday that features wild birds of the Bahamas. If we do it right, I'll post some pix. Great shot by the way.

I watch them poop on my car every morning when I go to work.  They drop a load before they fly off when I open the doors and spook them.  I have to be careful that they don't crap on me.

I dont "watch"..as much as "watch out for"..This nest is about twenty feet from the front door. First time nest on that pole. The one baby is on the left.
