If you turned the frames so the open side if facing you, it would create open boxes or shelf space to store things. All you really need to do in order to make it sturdy is get a big bottle of wood working glue and lay bead between them as you stack them up..a little clamping action overnight.....and presto...wood cabinets under your tables.
