Sometime, somewhere someone is going to build a scoop coater that doesn't leave the heavy ridge of emulsion at the ends.

awt pro angle 2 scoop coater

Only thing I don't like about it is picking it up is a bit more difficult.

I'm going to haver to round that "feature" a bit because it caused a rip in the mesh on some 150-S the other day and now my guy refuses to coat with it as we've lost too many screens recently and to lose one due to the way the coater is designed doesn't sit well with him.

I still think it's a nice way to go, but I think it puts too much pressure at an acute point.. not a good combination.

Or you could go nuts with a Digikote. Those things are cool to watch but ROI questionable for many

I looked at it when it came in and sanded down the edges a bit because they felt sharp.  Used 400/600 grit for a few minutes and I'm pretty sure we haven't busted a screen yet with it.  We use a lot of S mesh.

What a difference a "k" makes  ;D Of course, whether this is the option that you go with is another question. This is not just another scoop coater.

Does that link work for anyone?  Does not seem to work for me.

I got a pic of what it is from the MRPRINT site......you're right Andy, not just another scoop coater.

This should work, I can't remember exactly on the price but I want to say they are around 15k. Might be a little less or more.

What does DTS & CTS stand for?

DTS = direct to screen  & CTS = computer to screen  or something like that.
Basically you output the art from the computer directly to the coated screen eliminating the film positive process.
think of it as passing your coated screen through your epson printer :P

But not a particularly good example. Just my opinion.
