Long screens
« on: June 09, 2011, 01:31:52 PM »
Does anyone have or know where I can get a couple long frames, roughly 20"x40"?
I've got an interesting project for a MLB team.

Can you contact your supplier for a custom size?

I use rollers, but I'm thinking of statics for this. I do have a custom size guy locally,
but I also think that this size frame is probably common for some application. Skateboards
or something.

The problem with screens for inline numbering, at least in our case, is the mesh. We have 23" x 38" frames, but they are 81 mesh and only 12-15nm. The low tension is necessary with our DiGiT system numbering system. These sell blank, for $58.83. A similar size screen with different mesh count/tension may have a very different price though. Not sure if that helps, but I figured it was about time I contributed to the forum!

How about making a franken-frame out of some long and short rollers?

I recently bought a custom size frame with 230 mesh for under $50. Sonny can also have them made for similar price.
Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

I had thought that actually. I have a couple 40x50 rollers, but they are a different profile than my
25x36. I could stretch and glue with it though. Thanks for the ideas fellas.

Give me a shout.  I need to know the mesh counts.  We at Xenon Arkansas make custom size screens in wood or aluminum every day.  I'll get you some numbers.
Thanks
