I have a pain in my lower back
« on: November 29, 2012, 02:46:55 PM »
Ever since i got this auto, my lower back on the right side is killing me..I know its from turning taking a shirt off the press and putting on the dryer..the repetitive motion..

I know the full cure is getting someone else to do it! LOL

It is probably the position pf the press and dryer bu can not move them , theres really no where for them to move..shop is that small..

i work out 6 days a week, so its not my belly fat ,and i am always stretching that muscle, i am in pretty good shape..its just the motion...

Would a back brace work? not sure with the twisting...plus i would feel like an idiot wearing one...

any suggestions...does any one wear a brace and it helps with twisting?

Join the club brother, vitamin IB, and Ice pack every night is how I deal with it. I need to get back in the gym and hit the abs, strengthen them and the back has less of a hard time, but I feel your pain man!!

Be sure your distance and angle ratio from press to dryer is optimum. Whenever I drop a new press line in its always 25" and no more than 45 degree turn. Anti fatigue matts a must. If it were my back I wouldn't be embarassed about the brace.

I have terrible back problems, stenosis of the spine. It gets progressively worse every year and printing is the hardest thing for me to do any extended time. I wish I could say their is an easy way for you to avoid it but i have found nothing and trust me I tried everything. Anybody that does not know what sciatica feels loke, imagine a major tooth ache except in your leg/hip and ten times bigger thats sciatica. Fortunately I am not pissing my self yet.

Bad backs suck.  12yrs ago I herniated three discs in my lower back.  3mos of work hardening rehab and I was released back to work.  As time has gone on the pain has come back.  If I am printing or embroidering all day with few sit down breaks, I can hardly move at night.

Lucky for you, mine is chronic caused be degeneration of my lower lumbar. Surgery is mandatory but I been a baby about that for a long time, I truly feel the recovery will be worse than the current pain level. Dr. keeps telling me I will be walking around looking at the ground some day soon.

Tho I will tell you muscle strengthening does help a lot. As long as you get the correct therapy procedures you do at home it can work wonders.

I got some of Sketchers new relaxedFit shoes. They have helped my lower back. They have very little heal height (almost flat) and are super soft.

Rob get yourself some BackAid they're about 6 to 8 bucks a box trust me they work, I turned Killer (Johnny) on to them and he said they helped his back as well.  You can get them at just about any local pharmacy or WalMart.

same here, after two years running automatics my lower back started to complain
luckily for me after trying three different chiropractors i found the one who nailed it
he got me into strechting exercises in the mornings
six years after and still smoking at the end of the dryer
