Ink Cleaner for WB and Plastisol

Looking at Envirosolve from CCI - citrus solvent I think. 

It'd be cool to have one for both ink types.

It states that it's "top priority" is plastisol. I bet it will work just fine with wb considering how mastsui cleans up pretty well well just with a heavy spritz of water a little soaking and a wiping. I rarely need much ink cleaner and I use the cci enviro cleaner for  wb. I could be tragically wrong though and it wouldn't be the first time.

If by "ink cleaner" you mean ink degradant for the washout booth, then yes, absolutely. CCI's HR30 is perfect for both. I even use it for "on-press" color changes for plastisol. It dries a little slow for thay purpose, but it works great.  And a while back, strictly as an experiment, I used it on a water based stencil that had some ink ghost image. it works for that purpose  VERY nicely.

But all you normally need WB ink degradent in the washout booth, is soapy water. Formula 409 works (usually...) EVEN after a mild ghost image has dried in. If that doesn't do the trick on a ghost image (WB ink) then I'll use the HR 30, and a shoe brush, followed by pressure washing.

I've also used the "thickened" version of Clorox bleach applied with a paint brush--folowed by pressure washing to remove ghosting from waberbased inks, and inexplicably, one time it will work GREAT and the next time, bupkis....

For a waterbased color change on press, I use Formula 409. It's all you need.

no franmar doesnt have a vesatile product.. sericols press wash for waterbase inks works better than anythiong i have ever used on plastisol also.. including locked up screens

The Envirosolve from CCI sucks.

Simple Green and water for WB. If it's stuck, we use CitraPaste which is
our plastisol cleaner.

we use envirosolve, and it works really well for both. better than the franmar air dry ink cleaner, thats for sure. We also use Bean-e-doo for plastisols.

We're using both the Green Again (plastisol) and yes Simple Green + Water (WB) in the washout. 

I keep a gallon of TW ink's S-032 cleaner in full strength and a 50/50 dilution because it is seriously bad ass for breaking up any WB dry in and I need the help when printing that brand on flatstock but rarely need the firepower for the textile wb inks.

My idea was '86 the simple green and just start using one ink degrader for everything, one less chem in the washout area, maybe that's not necessary though.

So one of you likes envirosolve, one hates it?  interesting.  ericheartsu, why the bean-e-doo and the envirosolve?

Oh, I forgot to add where I was going with this.  I was considering adding a little recirc/parts washer cart to put right out on the floor and roll next to the presses or ink area for cleaning squeegees and knives right there instead of going to the wet room.  I was hoping to find a recirculating "enviro" solvent that would cut down both ink types well and then use the same thing in the washout so we could buy it in super bulk.

We are using Easiway`s Versa Solv Concentrated.   Works great for plastisol inks, but I`ve not tried it on waterbased inks.

But the question was about press wash i thought for both water base and plastisol. again water with waterbase unless the screen gets dried in. then we use the sericol press wash. Zoo why do use these concoctions when its really unnessesary?

I didn't know sericol had that, will check it out.  cleaners from the mfg tend to be the best, or so it seems.

but the idea is less chem varieties, keep it simple.  a single do it all would be nice.

Rick, is the 701 you refer to a Sericol (press wash) product??  Because I like CCI's HR 30 for both plastisol and WB haze, but I CANNOT say ZERO haze...ever. And locked emulsion?? No way, no how, not happening.....

A year out so ago, I spoke with a lady at Sericol about their press wash, and she told me I could just use Formula 409 and that it works just fine. But I can tell you sometimes I still reach for my CCI HR 30, so I'm interested in your 701. I like the sound of ZERO haze, and fixing the occasional emulsion lockup....usually caused If a screen is a little under exposed.

Mr CCI rep didn't know HR 30 also works for WB ghost images. He learned it from me. It isn't made for that. (Also...if I have a cold, it makes me cough, which is tomorrow for sure.)

I still use white mesh for some jobs, and I get some diazo staining. If your 701 perchance fixes that too, I'm DEFINITELY in....

ON PRESS we use water as the standard to mist screens when stopping or whatever. but if you encounter a dried in screen the sericol press wash 105 works fantastic. it also works fantastic as a on press wash with plastisol. recaiming we perrure wash the ink , spray on 701 scrub it in , rinse and dry. other than the dip tank(which we use franmar step 1 in) 701 is the only product in our screen area. no degreasing is necessary and pinholes are not a issue. actually tubelite company has a product called ELITE COMBO. It is 701 relabeled. actually made by easyway but 40 bucks a gallon..
