Have to Brag a Little
« on: November 05, 2012, 05:10:31 PM »
I have to brag about my team the last two days. We've had a huge order that we are getting incredible numbers on each day. Today we hit 25,948 impressions with just 3 automatics in a 9 hour shift. Gauntlet 2 had 6,100 imprints today with 2 set-ups, Alpha 8 in double index mode hit 12,348 and our Challenger III banged out 7,500 prints. Could not pull this kind of production without M&R's.

Those are great numbers for one shift on 3 press's.

When at Park Printing, We had a goal of 20,000 per day of finished goods, but using 2 shifts.
We ran 2 challengers and one 16 color 20 station precision oval (back in 1998) + the occasional use of a 6 color precision oval.

I am eager to one day own one of those Alpha's but my that time, M&R will have designed something better.

those are some CRAZY numbers!!! It comes up to over 700 pieces per hour per loader! To keep that going for 9 hours is amazing!

Congrats!

Very impressive indeed. The best I've ever done was back in the 80s on Precision Versa-ovals. 1,100 pcs per hour front and back. Granted it was one color f/b and it took 11 people per auto. Double index.

Load/load/index/index/print/print/flash/flash/unload/unload/load/load/print/print/flash/flash/unload/
unload. 3 million shirts. When we were done everything and everyone was colored in Newport Green.

flashing just to not smear while unloading fast? or to flip over on the same revolution? if so how did you go about curing?

No speed records for us since we just have a diamondback, fastest I have gotten it is 47 dz/hr.  We did do a 10k piece job 6 color back 5 color front in less than 3 days...the best part is the quartz flash sensor shorted out just before starting the job so I connected the wires to a light switch.  We had a guy manual activating the flash for all 20k prints...called them the lighthouse operators.

There were four flashes on each auto. Actually nine people on an auto but we needed two people on the back of the dryer so eleven total. Yes the last two flashes were to prevent smearing while unloading at that pace.

Good job! This is exactly how a floor should run.. everyday!

all one needs to do is set up the processes to allow this to happen and all the presses can do is print.

My question to all here is why are you not doing this?.. hmm..

You think I'm the crazy ass who is always telling people you're doing it wrong.. that's because you are! Castle is doing it right, the way I envision a production floor should be run.. who's the crazy ass now eh???
