CCI, again
« on: November 02, 2012, 05:40:30 PM »
CCI has a new "waterbased extender" out. Not sure what it is.
Currently use Matsui PrintGen to lube up/retard our inks.
I'd like to get away from it as it comes from suppliers I don't typically use.

Also, the 5's of CCI base/white come with a dispense type spout on the lid.
Any idea how to make use of these? Scooping is for the birds.

I have some X-base on my order list. I was told to use it instead of water from one of the great waterbase guys on this forum.

Not sure if I would use the pour spout. I like mixing all my inks before use. I am sure they separate. Maybe Tony can chime in on that.

Some WB PCs have a tendency to separate, especially flourescents which is why I like Sericols flourescents. Best hues I've ever seen and no settling.

where are all of you guys ordering your CCI discharges from? I'm running low on my CCI stock, and had been thinking of trying Sericol for the pantone matching , thoughts??

I believe that Nazdar has or will be dropping it due to the fact they picked up Nazdar from Wilflex. I was buying direct but now my rep has changed. Sericol is an excellent option and you can buy direct from Fujifilms

Tony, how would you compare the sericol white with CCI, as far as how CCI white mixes so easy, and smooth vs the matsui white which is always such a pain.

I've been printing Sericol white for more than a decade and back when I was performing tests it always outperformed the other brands. CCI is a serious contender and I have switched back and forth with no real difference. A little bird told me that one of the chemists from Sericol/Fujifilms is now with CCI so that may make a difference down the road.

Nice, I just don't want to go into another white as tough to use as Matsui, it always chunked up and was a pain to mix and the cci white was a no brainer, so easy to mix and never chunked up. I'm thinking about the sericol for ease of ordering and to get uniform with a good pms system ect. My new tubelite rep is really cool and been taking care of us with a few things, this is one he does carry. Neither sericol or CCI are carried by my preferred vendor so it's not like I'll be taking an order away from them. Think I may give this stuff a try this month.

The one thing wou will notice with straight white no mattter the brand is the trade off between The chalky hand and brightness. We're cool with it for our own print lines but in some cases have to DC base white plastisol. Funny things my guys and gals really really hate plastisol. Many were trained to print waterbase from day one so they're totally not put off by it.

That little bird would be correct! ;)

I`m ordering directly of CCI but it`s a real pain. Takes them days to reply to emails.

How about the re-branded CCI discharge that Ryonet sells?  Should be easier to order from them.

Find the Rep in your area and order from him, much easier and it won't have to come from headquarters in Cali, unless you are close to there.

There is no rep in my area as we are based abroad. But as a matter of fact we are in the middle of sorting out a distributer for them. So even more worrying that it takes them so long to reply. Right now I don`t know if our order has been processed or not. But that`s a matter for a different thread

If you order 5 gallon pails of the "re labled" Ryonet CCI, it actually comes to you in the same CCI pails as if direct, that's who I've been ordering it from. I've just heard from a shop friend of ours that he is now all Sericol and that the pantone matching is fast and easy
