Kodak playsport. Good quality good price. Good ratings in the vlogging community. I have had one (Zx3) for a couple years and its been super and simple so much so I would Likely buy the same model again even two years later. I can do all the fancy stuff I need on the computer using a program like power director (pretty cheap as well).

If you're willing to spend a little over a hundred bucks, I picked up a Fujifilm T400 last year for around $150.  It shoots very clean 720P video and takes unusually nice pictures as well--for the price.

Canon t3i (rebel) is an AWESOME DSLR and it can do some badass videos as well... kind of spendy but you also get a still camera that can shoot some amazing photos.

I personally would suggest the D60 but for your average "end user" the extra knobs don't really benefit you, but for the photo enthusiast, they are nice to have.

Those are very cool.

John has one and used it to shoot his roller frame video a while back if I remember correctly.

I recently watched a video from a desert race truck shot with an iphone in a RAM mount , it looked awesome. I have noticed now there are a lot of helmet mount kits for an iphone but
not sure i'd want to risk breaking it.
