Sherpa Lined Fleece. Any Suggestion for print?
« on: October 02, 2012, 06:24:35 PM »
Hi Everyone...

I took a medium sized order of sherpa lined fleece. Seemed liked a simple proposition.
I didn't anticipate the fleece/lining not be fixed to each other.

Sampled on our manual... using jacket hold down, but I was not really impressed.
Any suggestions for printing? Or, am I relegated to printing screened transfers and applying?
Seems like this might be the best option, but would love to hear other opinions. Any success
stories with this type of fleece?

Thanks in advance.

Too late, but from the catalog page of my website:

Feel free to browse, but keep in mind that not all items are appropriate for decoration by screen printing.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

We do a lot of distressed transparent ink printing on these. It works well on them and keeps the headaches to a minimum. A jacket clamp tends to stretch them a little too much then the flash moves them around even more. Not fun thats why we push towards distressed/ transparent type artwork.

Yeah, we did a bunch of these from ITC. But it was a one color front and back "cream" on brown if I remember correctly. Just used the right mesh count and did a one hit discharge no hold down or anything. Job looked awesome and out the door. But that was easy art. What did the awesome client throw your way? A 6 color crazy design with an 8 color back? That is usually our luck and always due yesterday.

hi guys....thanks for the replies.

Super simple art, one color, left breast.
Brown with cream color ink. ITC. ...we sampled with discharge, but had some difficulty
clearing screen in one pass. high tension, 123.  (manual press) I might have to revisit this
on an auto today, using the same set up. Thanks for the prompt.. the sample really did discharge
nicely.

i do brown ones with union flesh ink...

i print a left chest and a back...

Depending on the artwork you have...

i use a 110 mesh..I print one stroke with some pressure and then another stroke with alot lighter pressure..its alot about feel....it covers the brown really well...also when i lift the screen i do it very slowly....

Hey Guys...

Thanks for the feedback. I had my guys knock out some really nice single color screened transfers.
Finished product was first rate, application was super easy.  Again, really simple art.. discharge would
have been a great option on the auto, but for a 100 piece order  (@ $20+ plus per unit) I was not trying to let any of these fleece go south because if the double lining

Stoked in the input. Thanks again.

Looks good. I just got asked to do some of these but they want the soft shell ones. They have 8% spandex and a water proof coating, anyone know if transfers will work on that material?
