Color Laser Printers

I have a project coming up that is going to require me to print about 1000 full color copies.

I can use a copy shop, or i can buy a laser printer.

anyone have any advice on a good laser printer?

need to make sure the colors print correct, so is there a RIP type program for laser printers?

My wife's cousin has a Bizhub next door... they ain't cheap.  It's colors were worse than my two cheap Epsons.

I'm just not sure you are going to get good color representation out of a run of the mill printer.

You are talking about a 75.00 job at a trade printer.....I can not imagine being able to buy the paper and toner for that amount, never mind the cost of the equipment or your time.....

i've searched high and low, and best i could get was a quote for $280 15 miles away from me.

gotprint.com or some place like that would do it cheap. 

On a side note, I bought a Brother All-in-one color laser.  Wow, what an amazing printer.

HP CM1312nifi MfP. Good all in one laser printer. We use it as a back up and small jobs (little slow but load it and walk away) also to print velum films. Have at least 30k prints on ours. Only down fall is it needs to be warmed up or the ink wont fuse well, usually 3-4 test sheets and its ready. When jobs are set up properly it prints just as good as our production printers.

When shopping for paper try WB Mason. Always beat Staples prices and usually the paper house. Quality is better, like using the Blizzard Blinding White. They also have on the shelf paper stock most don't or won't stock for next day delivery.

Like MK said you are most likely better off going to an online site and have it done.

if you are in the market for a laser printer, the Brother machines have been winning awards left and right recently.  I used to buy HP only, but I think Brother makes as good a product, if not better.

The one downside of the brother printers is the single sheet feed on it.  HP is a ton better in that aspect...and the cheap HP black and white laser is smaller.  Which fits on a desk better.

I have had really bad luck with brother. I have a couple hp's but I learned never to use a generic toner in them. I am currently using a canon 8350. I think it was about $500 - $600.00.
A solid state ink printer will probably yield the best print for the lowest ink cost.
Or try someone like zoo printing dot com. The speed, quality and price are great. I love to let someone else do the work even if I only net half of profit from printing myself.
