Left chest print lets Guy check out the goods
« on: September 06, 2012, 07:32:15 AM »
You guys ever get this? A shop owner asks me to print some t-shirts and hoodies. On the shirts and hoodies she wants the left chest logo moved to the arm so people don't stare at her female employees chest and the hoodies for the ladies need to be zip up so when they take them off thete will be no "clothing accidents" its a first for me.

I once had a cheerleader coach request a full front print with two pom pons side by side.
I advised against it but she insisted. When she saw the finished art, she finally figured it out.  ;)

One of my ex girlfriends had a shirt with two owls on it - it was always fun to say "nice hooters"...

It's a double edge sword being in this business.

It gives me a reason to look at people's (girl's) chest to look at prints... but then if they don't know, I just look like a creep. ;)

We print for girls Inc and boy let me tell ya, its a hoot placing prints and they almost never want white shirts, the reason they can see my bra thru it.  I almost hate to print for women groups and women shirts are a pain when women try to fit shirts that done fit them.

I used to print for a clothing line called Porn Star in Miami. Needless to say the girls were simply awesome and their South Beach fashion show after parties were legendary. Not exactly prudes if you know what I mean.

Way back when I first started my own business, I was told by a women's group that my left breast print was too low, got distorted, and drew attention to the breast,
I raised it a bit, and have used that position ever since. (On a large, the center of a typical heart print is 5" down, and 4" over)
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

If there is any possibility at all, I bring it up, with humor of course. If the print is high enough on the left front it should not be an issue, but if the customer thinks it is, then it is, indulge them. We had to replace 350 out of 700 shirts about 15 years ago because the round left front was too low on some. The customer was nice enough to tell us that they would accept any shirt that was "X" inches from the shoulder seams, and we had to measure each shirt, all 700 of them. Better you hear it before the job is printed than after.

dudes....you need to talk with your wives....or girlfriends....or both if that applies

Early on I was informed about all this by my wife.
Women don't want white or gray....just dont.....not flattering.
Dont put the left chest print...or across the chest print .....across the boobs....they dont want that either. Above the boobs please, if you don't mind.

You can use a measurement.....or a rule of thumb is this...

your hand on your chest, thumb extended touching your adams apple...fingers flat to your right on your chest...your middle finger is the center of the left chest logo

its a good placement for women and works for men too....its a little higher, but looks fine. Women are happy with it.

BTW...do the hand thing on yourself....not your customer.... :o

Sure, but I've gone through all this trouble to hide it so well.

but hear is another problem we had one time, we printed some shirts for a womens event, now before we printed anything, five of them came in just so we could place the print, big breast low breast, small breast hit them all in different places, we finally just put the print dang near the collar.
