Whether you are looking for a low-cost entry into the decorated apparel industry or you’re interested in expanding your shop’s services, D3: Design, Decorate, Deliver, an all-day workshop presented by Stahls’, is the perfect place to get started. This first-time event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Weds., Sept. 12 at the The Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
This how-to, hands-on heat printing event shows you how to design and decorate everything from fashion forward graphic T-shirts to sports uniforms and corporate wear. You’ll learn about the latest decorating methods and products from equipment to transfers, CAD-CUT® heat transfer vinyl and print-and-cut materials, rhinestones, appliqué, decals, bumper stickers, wall graphics, and more.
No matter what level of experience you are at, you will find there will be valuable information for everyone. The workshop is split into two tracks. The DIY track will cover how to design and create graphics using a vinyl cutter and print-and-cut machine. The second track focuses on using a custom transfer service to create ready-to-apply heat graphics, which can save time, ensure a quick delivery, and requires almost no technical expertise while offering the same professional-quality results as screen printing.
In addition to techniques and processes, both tracks will discuss the many applications and markets that make these technologies so lucrative. With a short learning curve, a minimum capital investment, and lots of free education and resources to tap in the form of free webinars, blogs, videos, and how-to pdfs, heat printing is one of the best ways to get started in the decorated apparel business.
The class will be taught by four of the industry’s top experts: Dane Clement, Josh Ellsworth, Andy Curtiss, and Ben Robinson. Attendees will have an opportunity to heat print their own caps, shirts, and bags and be among the first to check out Stahls’ new Innovation Lab, which will display future products with an opportunity to touch, feel, and test some of the latest technological advancements in the industry.
Enjoy lunch in the Heat Press Café where you can network with other attendees and test drive a variety of the Hotronix family of heat presses. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to ask event educators specific questions. A special guest from Bomark Sportswear will be on hand to answer questions about blank apparel as well as offer tips and advice on styles, brands, and how to order.
For embroiderers, Bill Garvin, BG Tech Services, Tampa, Fla., an embroidery consultant who does embroidery and digitizing training, will be in attendance to answer questions about how to do appliqué. He’ll also be doing demonstrations on a singlehead embroidery machine.
There will be free samples, a heat press giveaway, and raffles for equipment and products. Breakfast and a box lunch are included. The cost is only $50 for up to two company employees.
