It's in the gulf right now and the models seem to have New Orleans in the cross hair.

I am in central Fl and am currently getting the north eastern parts of the outer bands. Lightning just hit somewhere outside my house and scared the bajezzies out of me. I'm in the office working in the garage. Raining for about 15 min every 30 min.  Just a steady rain since last night. No hard rain...but my 2.5' deep in ground fire pit I just made two days ago is filled with water. We used it the other night. Fun times. All the dirt around its is already washed away.  My dogs bark every 10 min from the rumble of the thunder.  Sheesh. >:(

Here in Central Fl, we should only get flooding if anything. Of course, low level flooding. Like as in right out side my door level. Each time, I go get my limit of sand bags from the county station. It's only come up once to my garage door...and stopped. Literally stopped at the door garage door.

I'm not even boarding up widows...unless it makes a turn east. Remember Punta Godra Fl?  They got ambushed when they thought it was going to just go out into the gulf then it made a right turn.

Good luck Brian and Micheal.

I'm sure everyone has heard this thing will hit 7 years to the DAY that Katrina hit.  Crazy.

Good luck to EVERYONE in its path. I've never experienced a hurricane, but I can kind of imagine the aftermath. Keep yourselves safe first. Everything else can be replaced. It's hard to offer any assistance from here in Iowa, but you can always ask. I'll be thinking of y'all

Tance,

Where are you located?

My plan is to tie a bunch of infant floaties to the press and dryer. At least some of the electronics will stay above water that way :).

stupid question maybe - but could you remove the expensive electronic parts and store in a higher place or a fancy zip lock bag?  all that is left is some wire.  as long as you had documented where the wires go, its simple to plug it back in.  but on the other hand,  perhaps that is what insurance is for...

Maybe that is why they have their Rino priced as it is on DS.

When insurances time comes... well we were selling it for 32k. ;)

They saw this storm coming a long time ago! :p

Heading in from out of town to office. Plan of action: caulk doors and hope we can uncaulk upon return. Looks like 12 hours of a deluge right now. Hoorah!
