Yes. If you have an .eps from a later version than you use, it works just as well to place then Expand Transparency

As a method of last resort, a document can be "printed" to a postscript printer, with a "save to file" option. No matter if the program can or can not output an EPS or PDF, the print driver can generate postscript. The problem with print to disk files, is the tend to be HARD to edit.
