FSU's ole Bobby B

I was at a party the other day and someone said secretly, "Bobby Bowden is at this party".  I said Oh,  thats great!  then looked at my wife and said "Who's Bobby Bowden? She didn't know.  So I quickly googled his image and scanned the room. I saw a guy that fit that description in the room. Thank goodness I didn't go up to his and say Hi Bobby, I'm a big fan!  Cuz it wasn't Bobby Bowden that I had found. In fact, Bobby Bowden was not at the party yet. He was arriving later. So, it gave me time to google more and see who he was.

Then everything became obvious. The birthday guy's biggest hero was Bobby Bowden. Thus all of the birthday party favors in FSU colors and the signed football on the mantel, etc. So, after meeting him, I didn't  telling him I didn't know who he was. (He's not a Pittsburgh Steeler).  ;D  People got pictures taken with him, but I held myself back. I thought I'd get one just for you guys, but, I refrained. Now, I was made aware that low an behold, I'm also sitting in the room with some "super bowel champ player. I didn't know who he was either and don't remember his name, but he did have his ring on. NICE.  I have a small vid of him at the party that I'll try t up upload.

He bacame the most winning-est NCAA coach only because they stripped a lot of Paterno's wins. Not to take away from Bobby's accomplishments but man thats a crappy way to get that title.

Well Dan thats alright everyone can't be a big sports fan, Bobby is truley a legend in college football, he even has a life size statue of himself as you enter FSU stadium, if you look at my avatar you will see my son and Coach Bowbens replace as FSU headcoach Jimbo Fisher.  Dan you should got yourself a pic with Coach Bowden.

Bobby Bowden Is A Great Man!
Weather One Likes Sports Or Not, Most People Enjoy, Genuine Decent People.
He Is A Man Of Integrity, Principal,Conviction.
I Know Many Young Men Who Had the Chance To Play For Him, And Were Richer For It!
I had the pleasure of hearing him speak in a very small setting. What a nice guy.
I can assure you, in his heart and mind he is still #2!
He would not like to be #1 under those circumstances.

Doug B., How are you?
Meeting Bill Monroe is quite an honor.
My son would be stoked!

He was at one of the fall bluegrass festivals in Brown county (Indiana) where I'm from.
Freind of mine knew him and introduced me. The fall ones were much smaller and more
intimate that the regular fests were. Earl Scruggs was there too.

I can attest to Bobby Bowden being one heckuva guy. I was on the fort tee at a golf resort in 1989, when Bobby and the club pro joined me and my friend. This was the year Deion Sanders left FSU and played his first year as a Falcon. Needless to say, my buddy and I who were a couple of beer drinking hackers were a bit nervous.  Bobby made us feel totally at ease, joking and having fun the whole time. He nicknamed me gorilla - not cause I hit the ball a long way, but rather cause I was always in the woods!   :o

After the round, we wine to his car and he loaded us with FSU hats, shirts, etc.  just a nice man.

 :)
